CommIT for IT professionals

Hero Mindmine, India's leading training and learning solutions company, part of the Rs 9,800-crore Hero Group, recently launched the first-ever training programme to address the communication needs of the IT Industry professionals at various levels. to tap the burgeoning Rs 2500 crore training market, according to a release issued in New Delhi.

The thrust of this new initiative is to useCommIT uses state-of-the-art speech recognition and interactive technology for improving practical communication skills by providing tools and techniques for strengthening linguistic capabilities.

CommIT spells precision, developed in collaboration with the IT Industry experts, it helps professionals tackle basic communication issues of "what to say", "how to say", "in what context to say" in their own terminology, aided by built in role-plays, situations and simulated exercises

According to Asheesh Gupta, Business Head, Hero Mindmine, "It has been observed that Indian IT Industry professionals have very strong technical skills which is the basis of their distinctiveness globally. But they need much more than just technical expertise; they need to communicate effectively with their peers, customers and team members, both onshore and offshore. After studying the situation deeply and with the guidance of industry experts, we have developed commIT to bridge the gap that exists in communication skills of IT professionals. "

CommIT is a suite of seven modules covering practical communication skills in language, speech and culture. Two modules in business language, three in speech and two in cross-cultural sensitivity are directed at achieving communicative competence in terms of mechanics of language, coherence of expression and listener-speaker dynamics. The business language modules uses modern communication tools effectively to improve verbal skills comprising of enhance fluency in conversational English, grammatical errors, vocabulary expansion and business telephone etiquette.
