Admn’s move to weed out touts

Chandigarh, March 9
To weed out touts the Estate Office authorities are bringing out an omnibus free of cost brochure on details about procedures of clearances ‘required’ from the department.

The measure is likely to bring about transparency in the office where touts try to take advantage of lack of knowledge of the people about different procedures.

No Objection Certificate (NOC) for sale, transfer on the basis of sale deed, registered deed, unregistered will, permission to mortgage, extension in time limit for construction, no dues certificates, extension for lease-deed to free hold, getting possession, permission under Advertisement Control Act, renewal of hand card licence, approval of building plans, grant of damp proof certificate for sewerage, water and electricity connections are now available in one brochure provided by the department free of cost.

The brochure also mentions rates for registration of sale deed and payment of stamp duty in Chandigarh.

Meeting on admn reforms

Chandigarh, March 9
The Chandigarh Administration today decided that all departmental heads will have one-month time to produce a list of administrative reforms needed to make the functioning transparent and based on systems.

The Adviser to the UT Administrator, Mr Lalit Sharma chaired a meeting of all heads of the departments where the decision was announced. The idea is to introduce Administrative reforms. TNS
