UK offers scholarships to Indians

The University of Hull, UK, has announced scholarships to Indian students pursuing computer studies and other courses in September 2005.

The university would offer scholarship amounts of £ 3,500 for computer studies and £ 3,000 for other courses and the amount would be on the prescribed fee, thereby approximately reducing it by 40 per cent, a statement from Campus Abroad, overseas educational counsellors and promoters and the Indian representative of Hull, said in Chennai on Monday.

All students who join Information Technology stream would receive scholarships and for other streams, the scholarship amount would be given only to meritorious students on the basis of their Class XII/graduation/ IELTS scores, the statement said.

SC seeks details of PG medical seats

The Supreme Court has sought from all states details of postgraduate medical seats available to meritorius students under the 50 per cent all-India quota scheme.

The court has directed the Directorate General of Health Services to compile the list of available seats under the all-India quota without deducting from them the total number of seats available for the reserved category. — UNI, PTI
