Aabra Ka Daabra (Music Today) This film boasts of different music, for no other reason except that it is targeted towards children. There are children's songs like Chhutkan gang ka kya kehna, Aabra ka daabra and Tara ram pam but that does not mean that all are of the same genre. Didave (Anuradha Sriram), and Love Hoya (Hema Sardesai and KK) are meant for teenagers. Then there is also an energetic Shiv Om sung by Shaan and film director Dheeraj Kumar. Himesh Reshammiya has set Sameer's lyrics to music. Raincoat (Times Music) Though not a clean break from the past, yet Indian films are maturing fast. The same holds true of film music as well. The music of Raincoat is different from run-of-the-mill films. It can be easily mistaken for a compilation of classical numbers. Rituparno Ghosh has broken new ground in music. The lyrics have also been penned by him and the music is by Debojyoti Mishra. — ASC This feature was published on January 15, 2004 |
