DC asks schools to declare results by February 10
Tribune News Service

Ludhiana, January 14
With a view to avoiding financial loss and harassment to parents, Mr Anurag Verma, District Magistrate, in an order issued here today, directed all schools to declare the admission results by February 10. He further directed them that in case any parents applied for refund of fees before February 15, the school authorities should refund it after deducting 10 per cent of the fee deposited, subject to a ceiling of Rs 2,000.

Mr Verma said he had received complaints that various private schools declared admission results on different dates and insisted the parents to deposit the fees immediately. He said that in order to secure admission of their children till the result of the schools of their choice was declared, certain parents deposited non-refundable fees in more than one school. Some schools even deliberately declare results earlier than other reputed schools to attract parents.

He also appealed to the parents to cooperate with the school authorities in getting the deposited amount refunded and advised that in case any school violated these directions, the parents should bring the matter into the notice of the SDM concerned.
