Making the announcement recently, Dr. Praksh G Apte, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore said, "IIM Bangalore is one of the premier management institutes in the country constantly striving to innovate and keep pace with the needs of the market. We realised early on that there was a need to bridge the demand for executive education without compromising on the high interactivity that IIMB offers. "We felt that instead of mere studio-to-participant method, live classroom-to-participant method is more effective. Hughes' DiRECWAY Global Education has made this method possible". "In the past, IIM Bangalore has successfully used the DiRECWAY Global Education platform to offer programs to working executives. IIM Bangalore's decision to enter into a formal partnership with Hughes and offer long-term programmes is a demonstration of the reliability, efficacy and relevance of the DirecWay Global Education platform", said Partho Banerjee, President and CEO, Hughes Escorts Communications Limited. "The DiRECWAY Global Education platform will allow IIM Bangalore to reach 35 cities through 47 classrooms across the country", he added. TNS
