Shaadi Ki Shehnai (Music Today) For the first time Music Today has come up with music played specifically at weddings. This is a double volume album where Bismillah Khan invokes the divine at the coming together of a man and a woman through mangaldhwani. Shehnai also brings out the pathos of the separation of the bride from her parents at the time of her vidai. That is the subject matter of the second volume of this cassette. In the first collection, Shubh Aagman marks the welcoming of guests. This is followed by Shubh Abhinandan, when the bride’s relatives welcome their counterparts in the groom’s family. And when the ritual of giving away of the daughter is observed, there is Panigrahan Ki Badhai. It also overlaps with the groom’s acceptance of his wife in a life-long bond. The poignant moments of the girl leaving her parents are featured in Vidai Ki Shehnai. It has two compositions, Vidai and Ashirwad.
Ek Se Badhkar Ek (Times Music) This Kundan Shah film promises to be a frothy comedy. The music by Anand Raj Anand is as irreverent as antics of Suneil Shetty and Shekhar Suman. Anand has included a song penned by the late Majrooh Sultanpuri. Interestingly, this is Aankhn hi aankhon mein, an item number picturised on Ishaa Koppikar. It has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Kumar Sanu in one version and by Anand Raj Anand and Anuradha Sriram in another. The album has three romantic numbers, Tujhe dekha jab se (Sonu Nigam, Abhijit), Dheere se jaana (Babul Supriyo, Alka Yagnik) and Phir se, which has lyrics as well as music by Abbey. There are two Punjabi numbers. Meri
akkh nashili has been sung by Jaspinder Narula and Pardesi dhola
by Jassi (lyrics Gurbhajan Gill). — ASC |
