Oye Tera Kya Kehna (Sagarika)

There are remixes and remixes. They all have the original music redone at a faster pace with modern instruments. But this one by Shankar Sahney goes a step further. The lyrics are taken from old hits but the music bears no resemblance to the original, so much so that if you just hear the songs without bothering about the lyrics, you won’t know that this is a copy of such and such song.

Credit for that should go to arrangers Babloo and Vivek Sahney, who have gone far away from the beaten track.

Care has been taken to include those songs which have been popular enough for the audiences to remember their lyrics. These include Kya hua tera vada, vo kasam vo irada, Jaane jaan and Vaada karle sajna tere bina main na rahun.

While the songs mentioned above are known for their melodies, the album also packs in racy numbers like Dil lena khel hai dildar ka, bhoole se naam na lo pyar ka and Jahan teri ye nazar hai, meri jaan mujhe khabar hai.

Dil Bechara Pyaar Ka Maara (Universal)

From the music it appears this is going to be an out-and-out fun film. This album has poked fun at people who cannot carry a tune.

This laugh riot takes place in Hari tum sung by Priya Bhattacharya and Shriram Ayyar. Manav tu and Bhago bhago are also in the similar mould. Both have been sung by Shriram Ayyar.

As if to compensate for the chaos, the other songs composed by Nikhil-Vinay are exceptionally sweet. The title song is in two versions, one a solo by Udit Narayan and the other a duet by him and Shreya Ghoshal. Similarly, Jane kya asar tera hua has been sung by Sonu Nigam
and Shreya Ghoshal first and then as a solo by the latter.
