A shot at wildlife

THE Federation of Indian Photography organised the first National Nature and Wildlife Photo Exhibition in Bhubaneswar from September 24 to 29 on the eve of the Wildlife Week. As many as 50 photographers from all over India took part in the competition. There were three sections —nature print, monochrome print and colour slide. The first prizes in the first two sections went to Bangalore-based photographers: H.V. Praveen Kumar for his nature print "The Royal Fight" and H. Satish for his "Small Minivet in Flight"in monochrome print. Vidyadhar D. Shalke of Belgaum won the first prize for his colour slide "Elephant in Kaziranga". Bibhuti Mishra gives a selection.
