ULTA-PULTA
Bandits in power
Jaspal Bhatti

A few days back 200 members of the NDA belonging to both houses of the Parliament marched to the Rashtrapati Bhavan to protest against the appointment of charge-sheeted MPs as ministers.

Once a charge-sheeted criminal becomes a minister he is automatically elevated to the level of a responsible citizen of the nation. He deserves respect because he has a thorough knowledge of all crimes. Because of this profound knowledge and great insight into the world of crime he can be expected to lead a crusade against crime, thus becoming an inspiration for other criminals. They might be motivated to shun crime and join politics.

The other day a group of armed dacoits entered the Howrah-bound Doon Express, looted the passengers, killed one and stabbed 19. The irony of the incident was that the train was passing through the home turf of our Railway Minister, Laloo Prasad Yadav. I think these were our future politicians in-the-making. The dacoits were so proud of themselves that they did not even feel the need to cover their faces while doing the job. I am sure that instead of hiding their faces, they wanted their faces to be well-known, keeping the next election in mind.
