DREAM THEME
Kiss and foretell

Vinaya K. Manhas

KISSING in a dream can have several connotations, depending on who is kissing whom.

It can denote passion when seen kissing a lover, parental love when kissing a child, or affection when two siblings kiss each other. It may even evoke horror if you see someone ugly kiss you or someone force a kiss on you.

Among girls kissing can evoke fear as well as guilt. It can give rise to guilt if the relationship between the dreamer and the other person is an illicit one.

As per traditional Indian thinking, to get a kiss from someone who shouldn’t be kissing you is a bad omen. Your friends and lover shall betray you. After such a dream do not have blind faith in anyone as you could face deceit. To see someone else get a kiss from your lover or spouse means that you need to beware of competitors. Have no faith on anyone.

As per western thinking, seeing small children kissing each other denotes happy times ahead. There shall be happy reunions and occasions to rejoice. To kiss a parent predicts success and honour coming your way. `A0You shall be loved by one and all.

To kiss a sibling denotes good associations.

To kiss your lover in the dark or on the sly portends illegal relationships, something which you need to avoid to avoid complications in life. To kiss a stranger denotes immoral behavior on your part.

Kissing illicitly predicts sadness in your family life, while kissing your spouse denotes happiness in family life. To kiss an enemy means that you’ll make up with your rivals. To see someone spying on you when you’re kissing your lover means your secrets will be out.

Psychoanalytically speaking, kissing more or less denotes establishment of a pact. You are sealing or making agreements in relationships. It could represent the establishment of a sexual relationship, a friendship or a simple act of affection. To be kissed is to accept that you are appreciated and liked by the other person. A pleasant feeling of being loved pervades your being after such a dream.

To kiss someone not known well-known to you is to subconsciously accept the desire to develop a closer relation with the person.

A woman of 42 would often see herself kissing a neighbouring couple as a form of greeting. Her family was very close to their neighbour but she could not understand the significance of kissing the man. It would always evoke feelings of guilt within her. She could not recall feeling any physical attraction also towards him.

Kissing does not necessarily have a sexual connotation. It could represent a desire to develop a much closer relationship with the couple. May be, there was something that she appreciated in the couple and wished to inculcate within herself. Once the feeling of guilt is rationalised such dreams disappear.
