Kinshuk, Neha lift titles

Kinshuk Sharma and Neha Singh emerged winner in the men’s and women’s singles section, respectively in the Chandigarh State Lawn Tennis Championship, which concluded at the CLTA Tennis Stadium, Sector 10, here this evening.

In the men’s singles final, Kinshuk beat Aakash Sharma in straight sets. In the first set, Aakash gave some anxious moments to Kinshuk, who maintained his cool and won with ease. In the women’s singles final, Neha disposed of Isha in three sets. Isha played a confident game in the beginning and did not allow Neha to come back in the first set. She won 6-4. In the next two sets, Neha and caught Isha on the wrong foot. Neha won the remaining sets 6-4, 6-4.

Results: men’s singles (final): Kinshuk Sharma b Aakash Sharma 6-4, 6-3; (semi finals): Kinshuk Sharma b Robin Kumar 6-2, 6-0, Aakash Sharma b Vikas Sharma 6-0, 7-6(6); boys’ under 18 singles (final): Vijayant Mailk W/o Pritam Singh; women’s singles (Final): Neha Singh b Isha Toor 4-6, 6-4, 6-4; men’s doubles (final): Robin Kumar and Aakash Sharma b Prabhjit Singh and Izreek Singh Randhawa 7-6(2), 6-1.
