Admission process for PAU courses begins Ludhiana, May 20 There will be no entrance test for B.Sc. (Home Sc ) B.Ed and above-mentioned diploma courses. There will be a common entrance test by PAU on June 29 for candidates seeking admission to B.V. Sc and A H and B.Sc. Agri (Hons ). The PAU has introduced a new programme of Master of Agribusiness Management from this academic session. The admission to this programme will be made on the basis of entrance test to be conducted by PAU on June 17 and group discussion and interview on June 19. The university will make admission to MBA on the basis of MAT conducted by All-India Management Association (AIMA) on May 2. The group discussion and interview will be held on June 20. The entrance tests for admission to different masters programmes have been scheduled for June and July. The counselling of students for admission to courses offered by the college of Basic Sciences and Humanities will be held on July 26, for college of Home Science (except sociology) and College of Agricultural Engineering on July 27, for College of Agriculture (including agricultural economics and sociology) on July 29 and for College of Veterinary Science on August 3. The last date for receipt of applications from NRIs, wards of NRIs, NRI-sponsored and industry-sponsored candidates to various undergraduate programmes, MBA and MABM is July 28, whereas for MVSc. and other M.Sc. programmes is July 30. The NRI candidates educated and residing abroad will be considered for admission without appearing in relevant entrance test provided they fulfil other prescribed qualifications.

Creating waves in music world Ludhiana, May 20 He was invited to take part in a programme "Ambra de Tare" last week on Balle Balle channel. Talking to this correspondent, he said he would never sing songs which have lyrics with double meaning. He said his songs would provide entertainment to the entire family. Bhupinder said, "I have been interested in music since childhood. Although I had won several awards in school, it was after he sang a "shabad" at a school function which was highly appreciated that he decided that he would make music more than just a hobby. He received College Colour in music in 1996 in GGN College. While in college, he also participated in NSS camp. He was declared best singer at Khula Manch programme organised in 1992. Since then, there has been no looking back. Bhupinder, who honed his talent for music under guidance from Jaswant Bhawaran, says, "I want to reach out to people through my voice". Bhupinder, who is a lecturer in Commerce in SAN Jain Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, has done Masters in Finance and Control and B. Ed. He tries to instil love for Punjabi music among his students. According to Bhupinder, he wants to promote folk songs of Punjab. |
