BESIDES being an important ingredient of our diet, rice is also a major cash crop. It has both nutritive and money value. When taken as a dietary item, there can be dreams of buying or consuming rice. As a crop, there can be dreams of rice fields ready for harvest, or even fields that are drying up or rotting. A dreamer may see a granary full of rice or one totally empty. As per Indian thought, to see yourself eating rice in a dream is a very good omen. It is a harbinger of fame. You shall lead a very satisfied and peaceful life. Should you dream of paddy crop in a field, ready for harvest, it foretells wonderful change in fortune. Your family life shall be happy and you shall prosper. Should you be harvesting the field, it means your hard work and creativity will be rewarded. Should you see rice with a lot of mud and stones in it, beware of sickness and ill-health. A dream about cooking rice means you will adopt certain responsibilities that shall bring you satisfaction and happiness.
As per western thought, seeing rice in dreams foretells success and good relations with friends. Should you be in trade or business, you stand to gain and prosper if you dream of rice. Seeing yourself eating rice shall bring happiness and you shall have a fulfilling family life. Should the rice be dirty and not fit for consumption, then sickness shall afflict you. You shall also stand to lose friends. Should you see yourself cooking it, you can soon expect to be wealthier. To see ripe paddy fields foretells great wealth and happiness. Should the paddy corns be rotten or dead, it indicates dreary prospects. Psychoanalytically, to see paddy grow in fields, is indicative of having done enough of hard work and you should sit back and enjoy their success and achievements. Rice as a symbol suggests food, as it is a staple part of our diet. Dreams about eating rice suggest that you are satisfied and happy and have an abundance of that what you need or desire. It can also suggest spiritual nourishment. Spiritually, it symbolises immortality and fruitfulness. An old man of 74, after every few months, saw himself eating plain rice. In reality, he claimed that he did not eat it as he did not like its taste. Although the man possessed everything in plenty and seemed to have achieved a lot in life, he was not able to enjoy his success as it was not up to his expectations, in terms of quality more than quantity. |
