New Delhi, April 3
Health Care Welfare Society (HCWS), a committed NGO working for the improvement of healthcare facilities, educational, economic and social conditions of the community at large, made a donation of ‘audio systems’ to JPM Senior Secondary School, managed by the Blind Relief Association, Delhi. This school is situated at Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, New Delhi. The donation was made through an event held on the school premises.
The ‘audio systems’ will be used by the students for enhancing the learning capabilities in terms of fluency in speaking English. Two ‘audio systems’ will be issued for each class, which will help the students understand and learn different types of voice modulation techniques. This particular training will be provided to the students in groups and has been designed specially for the physically challenged students.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr P C Mehta, Manager, Blind Relief Association, Delhi said, “We are very happy to receive such donation in kind, which would help the students enhance their learning capabilities. We often get offers from the renowned voice-based call centres for recruiting our students. We feel that our students need to be trained specially for such recruitments and enhance their listening capabilities as well as fluency in spoken English.”
The HCWS specialises in healthcare communications and acts as a facilitator in communicating the messages through specialised mass media campaigns, workshops, seminars and events as a part of its welfare activities. These programmes are funded by corporates as well individuals from various fields of activity.
Mr Anup Singh, president HCWS, also spoke on the occasion. He said, “We believe that unless there is a synergy between the objectives of the social responsibility programmes funded by corporates and the needs of the beneficiaries of such programmes, none of the social, educational and healthcare programmes can achieve success.”
Mr Anup Singh added, “We identify specific programmes for donation and accordingly source fund from the corporates and individuals for organising and conducting these programmes. This particular initiative is aimed at supporting the cause of physically challenged people and we hope that the audio systems will help the students enhance their learning and speaking capabilities.”
