Shaadi Ka Laddoo seems tempting

Raj Kaushal hit the marquee with Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. While Shaan still cashes in on the success of the film’s Khushi song, Kaushal did not make it big until now. The director is back with Shaadi Ka Laddoo, which may well be his tribute to wife Mandira Set Max Bedi.

VELOCITY had people speeding towards to it last week, all with just one question in their heads—To eat or not to eat Shaadi Ka Laddoo. If the words of director Raj Kaushal are anything to go by, they would have all agreed that the best thing to do is khakar pacchtana (Repent but taste it nonetheless).

There is no lead in the film, it is a story of six characters and helps the masses to weigh the pros and cons of marriage but the message is—‘Experience marriage!’, says an overtly excited Raj.

After receiving acclaimed reviews for his performances in Pinjar and Plan, Sanjay Suri is back again with a frothy comedy on the lines of Jhankar Beats. He again plays a married man but this time around, he doesn’t seem very happy. With Divya Dutta playing his wife, may be there isn’t much the man will have to do.

Apart from showing co-actor, Ashish Chaudhary, the flip side of rushing into marriage, that is. While the two male actors play the key roles, there is also the director’s sweetheart Mandira playing a vital role in the film. ‘It is time people start seeing Mandira beyond the tough exterior that she had in Shanti’, says the concerned hubby.

Mandira plays a suave woman who is awaiting her Mr Right. After Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, this will be her first substantial role in Bollywood and Mandira seems to be making the most of it. Apart from Mandira, the film features Samita Bangargi, Ashish’s sweetheart in real and reel life. Like Kaushal’s first film, this one too sees the debut of a couple, Sameer Malhotra and Negar Khan. The duo, who made their debut with Chadti Jawani, seem to have stepped into Bollywood with equal gusto.

Negar plays on Ashish’s fantasy all through the film, and the audience might not be spared either. The story is about people in real-life situations and appears a must-see for both the married and unmarried viewers.
