RHYME TIME
My India

IS beautiful and nice,

The people are brave and wise.

Mountains so high,

sea so blue;

Rivers so wide, fields are

green too.

That is why India I love you.

A sad spirit

Boo hoo, boo hoo,

Goes little boo.

Boo is a spirit, always sad;

on little things he goes mad.

boo hoo, boo hoo,

goes little Boo.

He lives in a haunted house,

but funny thing, he’s afraid of a mouse.

Boo hoo, boo hoo,

goes little Boo.

He doesn’t know how to haunt,

his friends do him taunt:

"Boooohooo, boooohoo,

there goes little Boo."

Books

Today I am feeling very good

Because I have read Robin Hood.

But in last chapter, when he was dying,

I went to my room and started crying.

Whenever I read Goose Bumps,

My heart always quickly pumps.

My favourite author is Jules Verne,

His stories takes a sudden turn.

HG Wells have written The Invisible Man,

And of his The Time Machine I am a big fan.

David Copperfield is a tragic book

But you would like to read it, once you have taken a look.

Short stories of Ruskin Bond,

Are those of which I am found.

Pranav Abrol, Class IX-C, Bhawan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh

Remember the martyrs

Let us pay a tribute to those,

Who gladly and willingly, sacrificed their lives,

Forgetting about their children and wines.

They were courageous,

They were brave,

Today, who remembers them and their graves.

After death,

Their names are registered in the history,

Their death, sacrifice still remains a mystery.

They stand on the front in cold or hot

But after such anguish

They often think what they have got.

On dark nights,

They are the ones on the border who roam.

They are the real sons of motherland,

Their sacrifice for India is grand,

Let us salute,

Pay a tribute,

Vow to respect

Remember them...

Because they are great.

Real heroes of motherland.
