Jarnail, Shinder Pal best athletes Doraha, February 6 Mr Jaswant Singh Gill, Principal of the college, welcomed the chief guest of the occasion. The athletic meet was presided over by Bibi Bhagwant Kaur, president, college management committee. Mr Jogeshwar Singh Mangat, senior vice-president, Prof Balwant Singh Pangali, general secretary, committee members Tarlok Singh Jaggi, Adarsh Pal Bector, Roop Brar, Shiv Kumar Soni, Bhupinder Singh Oberoi, Prof R S Pali, Grewal, Gurnam Singh, municipal councillor, Principal D S Gosain and Hardarshan Singh Mangat were among those who graced the occasion. Sports festival at Veelan concludes Ludhiana, February 6 In kabaddi (57 kg and 52 kg), Veelan emerged victorious, while in the 47-kg category, Sehjat came out triumphant and in the 42-kg category, Shaal lifted the title. In the 37-kg category, Veelan bagged the title. The second
position was secured by Sidhwan Kalan (52 kg), Veelan (47 kg) and Yulli Kalan (42 kg). Mr Hakam Singh, councillor welcomed the spectators and the guests. According to Mr K.L. Goyal, Commissioner, Regional Provident Fund, seven zonal teams, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi (regional) and Delhi (head
office) comprising around 150 participants, including officials, would take part in the meet. Mr R.K. Mahajan, Additional Commissioner, Central Provident Fund, would inaugurate the meet on February 7, while Mr Ved Parkash Chopra, member, EPF Board, would preside over the inaugural function. Mr L.R. Warm welcome for Pak judokas Ludhiana, February 6 The district association had sent coach, Mr Rakesh Singh to Amritsar to accompany the visiting team to Ludhiana.
