Ludhiana, February 1
The city will host the sixth national conference of endoscopic surgery
from February 19 to 21. The conference is being organised by the
Indian Association of Gastro-intestinal Endosurgeons. Renowned
surgeons will participate in the conference and give practical
demonstrations.
According to Dr Kuldip Singh, honorary secretary, Indian Association of Gastro-intentional endorsurgeon, 700 to 800 delegates will participate in the conference and 500 delegates have already been registered. There will be more than 20 foreign delegates, including Dr Jacques Perissat of France, Prof Alfred Cuschieri from Britain who performed the first laproscopic surgery in his country and Prof Peter Goh from Germany.

Ravinder Taw, convener, said renowned doctors would perform advance
surgeries of stomach, liver, gall bladder, spleen, hitius hernia and
coloreotal panoreus. They would also perform some of the surgeries
which were not routinely done in India. The conference will be held at
Dayanand Medical College and Hospital and at Hotel Park Plaza.
