Grab Web images and maintain their records Though it is no big deal to copy images from the Websites and store them on the computer, yet keeping a track of their origin can be a tough job after a period. This can also help to get back to the site for more images. It can certainly be a good addition to freebies. Image Co-tracker This is a tool for
creating databases of images from the Internet. It automatically
captures the image. Its Internet address where the image has been found,
name and the date are added to the database. Image Co-tracker is
valuable for many applications like managing image galleries and storing
banner ads, pictures, or favourite comics. Once an image has been
grabbed, you can do the following: add textual information about the
image, create catalogues for images and manage them, organise images
into categories, sort images and image information, follow the link
associated with the image just by clicking on it, import/export image
catalogues to work with them at other computers, export an image
catalogue to HTML, send an image catalogue by e-mail, control how the
images and information are displayed, search and print an image
catalogue and delete images. You can manage the database offline.
However, to follow a link or to view a page from which you have grabbed
an image or the page to which the image refers, you will need an
Internet connection. When you install Image Co-tracker on your computer,
the database contains one record — the Cogitum LC image describing how
to use the program. Basically, to add an image to the database, you have
to "grab" it by launching Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or
higher. To open an image saved on your computer just Select File and
click on the Open Tab. Then click Browse and select the file type in the
file type drop-down list. If you are not sure about the file type,
select ‘All files.’ Thereafter, select location of the file and
click Open. You can position the pointer on the top of the image you
want to grab and click the right mouse button. And from the drop-down
menu, select Grab Image. It goes to the Image catalogue, which is a
folder that
contains the image database. To create a new image catalogue, click the
Create New Image Catalogue button or select Catalogue and then New from
the menu. The New Image Catalogue window will appear. Select a folder
for new data. By default a new catalogue will be created at the same
level of the folders tree as the current catalogue. The default name of
an image catalogue will be "Image Co-tracker." To change it,
enter a new name in the edit box. To allow distinguishing between the
Image Co-tracker catalogues a newly created catalogue has an .ic
extension. Enter the name of the sub-folder in the edit box (or use the
default) and click OK. As you use the freeware you will find it much
easier to use. Download from www.co-tracker.com |
