Pak IT delegation
Nasscom
has announced that a
20-member IT delegation from Pakistan will be participating at Nasscom
2004- India Leadership Forum being held from February 3 to 6, 2004, in
Mumbai. The delegation, led by Ms. Jehan Ara, president, Pakistan
Software Houses Association (P@SHA), will also visit few other key IT
cities in India to meet some major IT companies. The Pakistan’s
software industry is in its infancy with approximate revenue earnings of
$ 50 million. At present, the industry employs 10,000 professionals.
Aptech’s staffer awarded
Dr N.J. Rajaram, Chief
Technical Officer, Aptech Ltd, was recently awarded ICQRIT’s
prestigious award on Pioneering Research in Reliability Engineering in
the area of Software Quality Assurance by the International Conference
on Quality Reliability & Information Technology (ICQRIT). The other
winners included Prof. S. Osaki and S. Yamada from Japan, also for
Quality Assurance. The award, instituted by Indian National Science
Academy (INSA), seeks to promote pioneering research in Software Quality
Assurance.
NIIT pact with ICSI
Under
an exclusive arrangement, NIIT will train students and members of The
Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the apex body
governing the company secretaries in the country. According to a MoU
between NIIT and ICSI, the IT training leader will offer a specially
designed program at select NIIT centres across the country. This
task-oriented special program will train the students and existing
members of ICSI on high-end personal computing skills. Learners will
have the flexibility to choose and practice from a range of specially
designed task alternatives as part of the curriculum.
