Dreaming of horseshoes

GENERALLY a horseshoe is taken to be a lucky symbol in almost all parts of the world. It is taken as a good omen to find a horseshoe and place it at your main door. It is said to bring luck to the home and to those who dwell there.

As per Indian thought, to dream of finding a horseshoe is a very lucky omen as such a dream foretells gains through lottery or gamble. It means that you are in for good times on financial grounds. For those engaged in artistic pursuits, such a dream foretells prosperity and recognition. It also means that the dreamer's family life shall be a happy one.

As per western thought, seeing a horseshoe in your dreams indicates progress in business as also fortunate engagements for women. Traditionally speaking, seeing a horseshoe turned upwards represents the moon and protection from evil. Should it be turned downwards, it is said to bring bad luck. Should you find one which is broken then adverse circumstances are foretold. Should you dream of a horseshoe hanging from a fence or from your doorstep then it means that you shall prosper beyond your expectations. Should you find one on the road and pick it up then it means that you shall receive financial gains from unknown sources.

Psychoanalysts, too, agree that in most cultures horseshoe is regarded as a symbol of good luck. Cultural associations induce most people to, consciously or subconsciously, associate horseshoe with good luck. Thus should things be going very well for you and good luck be coming your way often very unexpectedly then the occurrence of such dream symbols signifying luck are common. It could also be the vice versa. Supposing there are lots of adverse circumstances coming our way then we would often optically wish to find a horseshoe so that our circumstances undergo a change.

A man of 34 would often dream of seeing in his dreams that he finds a horse shoe, but whenever he would go ahead to pick it up it would crumble and break into pieces. This would leave him quite heartbroken and disturbed. Obviously the dream is more of the wish fulfillment type overshadowed by the man pessimistic outlook. The man wishes to find a horseshoe to change his luck but his pessimism at the same time makes him realize that such good things cannot happen to him thus the horseshoe crumbles and breaks.
