Everybody Says Rahul Bose is fine RAHUL Bose seems to have struck gold. Time magazine has featured him as India's answer to alternative cinema and Bose can't stop smiling. Just last year, he won similar acclaim for his directorial venture Everybody Says I'm fine. But Rahul's not content. 'I am always hungry for more', says the intelligent actor. No wonder, he's getting the best offers. Even commercial filmmakers can't get enough of him after Jhankaar Beats. But Rahul refuses to dance around trees. 'I will never do that,' he maintains. Excerpts from an interview with the verbose Bose on the sets of Chameli : Your career is going great guns. After Mr & Mrs Iyer released, there hasn't been a week when there haven't been Press interviews to do. I went abroad for four months just for publicity. Of course, it feels great, but it also gets tiring. Not that I'm complaining. Right now again I've been doing the whole publicity gig for Chameli which is set for December. You have been offered a spate of films. What is your criterion for choosing a film? I have been offered 22 films in the last two months. I've rejected about 17 already. I choose films according to the role, story, and director. There has to be something original and fresh about it. I reject films if the story doesn't do anything to me. It has to be convincing. |
