Advani: Pak
response disappointing

Terming
as very disappointing Pakistan’s response to India’s fresh peace
initiative, Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani today said there was no
evidence of sincerity on Islamabad’s part in stopping cross-border
terrorism.
Talks

India,
Myanmar sign 2 agreements

Giving a fresh impetus to their
ties, India and Myanmar today signed two agreements on enhancing joint
education and research programmes and exempting visa requirements for
diplomatic and official passport holders shortly after Vice-President
Bhairon Singh Shekhawat arrived in this country on a five-day visit.

beat up dacoits at press meeting

Ludhiana,

After committing nearly three
dozen dacoities in North India, in which they murdered 13 persons,
seriously injured 74 and left 24 traumatised, a 32-member gang of
dacoits has been busted by the police.

In a rare incident of its
kind the ‘ojhas’ today tried to bring a snake-bite victim
back to life in the morgue of the Civil Hospital, Ropar. The
drama illustrating predominance of myths over medical science
right on the premises of the Civil Hospital, Ropar, started
yesterday afternoon. A snake-bite victim Avtar Singh of Pathreri
Jattan village was brought to the hospital.
