Microsoft

Eyeing the 400-million-dollar business intelligence (BI) market in India, Microsoft has launched a BI accelerator, a set of tools and technologies that streamline BI implementation. The market leader in BI technology also announced that it would introduce the SQL reporting services in India in December. The launch of the products, along with the upcoming Office 2003, will make Microsoft the only end-to-end BI products vendor, Group Manager Sanjiv Mathur told reporters. While Microsoft will provide the technology for the BI accelerator, it will have partnerships with companies such as Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Cap Gemini Ernst and Young Consulting India to customise the product. Microsoft will target the high-growth banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), manufactuing and retail sectors with its BI solution.
