IT stands for
International Terrorism
Sandeep Garg
WHAT
is IT? Presently, IT is the driving force behind every field of life. IT
is the merger of three fields — computer, communication and
microelectronics. However, the way IT has given impetus to militant
activities, it can be concluded that IT stands for International
Terrorism.
George Babbage, the
father of computer, might never have thought that his effort will be
used for destroying the humanity in coming age. After the invention of
VLSI (Very Large Scale Integrated Circuits) and merging of the
communication and computer industries, IT has now become a powerful
weapon in the hands of the terrorist organisations.
Now terrorist are able
to communicate easily and fast. A large number of terrorist activities
are now being carried out and being supervised through the Internet. The
attack on the Parliament is one such example that was aided by the
Internet. While ultras have become modern and sophisticated, well versed
in IT, our policemen are still a century behind. The Government should
provide training to the security agencies also to make them adept in
tackling cyber crime.
