Be original

In the newspaper, I saw

a poem that outraged me.

Titled Child or Adult,

claimed to have been written

by a student of Class nine.

Either it had been copied,

Word to word and line to line

From Roald Dahl’s poem,

Which I had studied

as a part of my course

in English in Class nine.

Or this event is divine.

I am amazed by the idea

That two people of different eras

Write the same poem, with

the same title, words and rhyme!

Creation is a serious matter

and not a borrowing game,

in which you steal a poem

and sign your name.

Be original,

and we will appreciate,

whatever your own mind

will create.

Good or bad,

is a different issue.

What matters is that

it has been created,

only by YOU!

What is it?

It brings us into action

Without it, our life would become a never ending

Vacation

It is most important treasure

People take it for their own pleasure

It renovates our life

And makes us as sharp as a knife.

It makes our lives look sprightly

And helps develop our over-all personality.

It helps us to live in society.

It can be taken from books of different variety.

It helps us to become a good creature

It is generally imparted by a teacher.

But talking about it causes me perspiration,

It is non-other than education!!!

St. John’s Sports Day

Welcoming the Chief Guest,

Our principal sashayed with grace,

In her presence, we felt solace...

With head held high,

Our captain held the torch with ease,

Amidst applause, the boys said cheese!

SJOBA displayed its might at tug of war-

Versus teachers, amidst uproar —

As Johnian’s flag fluttered

The boys were determined to show off their insignia —

Of Soaring Eagle —

In the backdrop was the sound of the bugle —

Enthusiasm and excitement reigned-

As multicoloured balloons rained...

The audience too felt buoyant,

As winners walked to the dais, triumphant,

To celebrate this Mega event!!
