Additionally, a state-of-the-art diagnostic facility inside the clinic, equipped with top-of-the-line equipment provides for all kinds of cardiac tests, from routine blood investigations such as blood sugar, cholesterol, lipid profile etc., to ECG, TMT and ECHO.

Statistics reveal that owing to busy lifestyles, stress, high pollution levels, irresponsible eating habits etc., Indians are prone to cardiac diseases and according to WHO, 1 out of every 5 cases in heart disease is from India.

Over 10 per cent of all urban Indians suffer from coronary artery disease. Fifty per cent of all heart attacks occur under the age of 55 and 25 per cent below the age o 40.

Another factor highlighting the need for heightened awareness about cardiac health problems is the fact that India has the highest number of diabetics. Heart attack is 3 to 5 times more common among diabetics. Recognizing these alarming facts, the endeavour of camps such as ‘Healthy Heart Week’ is to sensitize the local population to the fact that being aware of one’s risk to a cardiac disease can be a helpful from the preventive perspective.
