Stadium A win inaugural match

Chandigarh, June 10
In the inaugural match of the Cool Cotton (U-13) Cricket Trophy, Stadium A defeated DAV CC-8 by 69 runs today. Batting first Stadium A scored 132 for 5 in 25 overs. Akshit (24), Gurvinder (25) and Gaurav (30 n.o.) were the main scorers. Gagan took 2 wkts for 25 runs. DAV CC -8 were bundled out for a paltry 63 in 20.1 overs. Vaibhav made 40, Pushp took 3 for 12 while Ashish took 2 for 15.

In the second match, Chetan XI from Delhi were defeated by Stadium B. Chetan XI were all out for 105 in 23.3 overs. Hiten scored 26 and Kshitz 14. Krishna claimed 3 for 17 and Vishu 3 for 15. Stadium B reached the target of 106 in 20.2 overs. Gurpreet (31 n.o.) Lovesh (17 n.o.), Raja Dhingra (15) and Subham (13) were the main scorers.

The third match at the Sector 16 stadium between Mohali Cricket Association and MES Patiala had to be abandoned owing to sudden downpour. Both teams were awarded two points each. The fourth match between Patiala Coaching Centre and Panchkula CC was also abandoned and both teams were awarded two points.

Cricket meet

Chandigarh were all out for 196, while Jalandhar scored just 121 runs before losing all their wickets in the first innings of the semi-final match during the ongoing Punjab State (under-15) Inter-district Sushil Bali Cricket Tournament at the PCA Stadium in SAS Nagar.

In the second innings, Chandigarh managed to pile up 103 runs after losing just two wickets in 35 overs. Amanjit was not out for 36 runs, while Himanshu was not out for 22.

Bedi XI win

KALKA: In the final of the Open Cricket Tournament being played here, Bedi XI of Pinjore defeated Satnosh XI of Kalka on Monday.

In all 16 teams took part in the tournament. In the first semi-final, Suresh was adjudged man-of-the-match while in the second semi-final, Mahesh Kumar was given the award of the man-of-the-match. Gurbachan Singh who scored 56 runs in the final was adjudged man-of-the-match in the final. Mangoo Ram bagged the man-of-the-series award.

The chief guest on the occasion, Mr Sangat Singh Nanda, Municipal Commissioner, gave away the prizes to the winners.
