ICICI-MCD pact
Municipal Corporation of
Delhi (MCD) signed an agreement with ICICI Infotech, a provider of
end-to-end IT solutions, for two years. In addition to consulting on
e-governance, ICICI Infotech will advice MCD on issues ranging from
networking, computerisation of municipal hospitals, introduction of
computer literacy programmes in schools, as well as back office
automation and assistance to the various departments of MCD in all
matters connected with computerisation.
DVD design platform
To support the cause of
manufacturing DVD players in India, ST Microelectronics has introduced
the AIDA2 DVD player design platform. The platform constitutes a
complete DVD playback system based on the DMB2 monoboard. The monoboard
combines the front-end drive mechanism and the back-end DVD decoder onto
a single PCB. This has been specifically designed as a low cost mass
producible component of a DVD system.
For doctors
Ind Medica, a
Chandigarh-based computer company, has launched hospital management and
electronic patient record system software. The software, meant for
doctors, has modules to help in the efficient management of hospitals.
Motorola-Tata tie-up
Tata Teleservices (TTSL)
and Motorola, the world’s second largest handset manufacturer
announced the launch of the Motorola T720c, colour CDMA handset for the
Indian consumers. The Motorola T720c will be bundled by TTSL under the
aegis of its Tata Indicom brand to provide CDMA mobile connections.
