Off season cricket activities in full swing
Our Sports Reporter

Rohtak, May 7
Off season cricket activities are at full swing with a bunch of budding cricketers make serious efforts to keep themselves physically fit and ameliorate their cricketing skills as summer cricket coaching camp being conducted here by the Haryana Cricket Association (HCA) for the under-17 age group draws near its culminating point. The camp, which began on April 21, is scheduled to end on May 11.

The organisers have divided the camp activities into two separate sessions. According to HCA secretary, Ranbir Singh Mahendra, the action takes place on two different venues. The young cricketers assemble for the morning practice at Vaish College ground. It is a three-hours affair in the morning and nets are held at between 3.30 pm to 7 pm in the afternoon session. The HCA has chosen 20 cricketers for the camp, who are being provided all facilities. A participant told to the NCR Tribune that the boys were enjoying every moment, as they get good opportunity to learn finer points of the game besides keeping themselves physically fit and mentally fresh. The guys seemed enthusiastic at the nets.

Highlighting the importance of such camps, another cricketer said that one of the positive points of the camp has been that it has generated a lot of enthusiasm among the young local lads who turn out to watch cricketers at the camp. HCA proposes to organise such camps for under-19 and Ranji cricketers, too in the near future, said the Haryana secretary.
