Schumacher to star in
another big race New Delhi, May 1 The Spanish Grand Prix will be beamed live at 5.15 pm on May 4, and all eyes will be on Schumacher. Schumacher has come up with stunning wins when driven to the wall and he’s expected to put on display another breath-taking show. Going into the last round of the FI World Championship, not only were Schumacher and his red Ferrari struggling to make an indent on the title race but the German had to deal with the death of his mother just hours before the race started. He said his mother had wanted him to race, and race he did. Impressive at the start, he powered his way to his first victory of the season. So awestruck with the effort was Ferrari team boss Jean Todi that he was moved to say later, “Michael has shown so many times that he’s a wonderful driver and now he’s shown he is a man. It’s a shame sometimes people don’t understand that”. This week, the FI circus heads to Spain, the scene of one of Schumacher’s many triumphs, as he dominated last year’s championship. And Ferrari have brought out their big guns, their brand new F2003-GA. Keeping a watchful eye on things will be championship leader Kimi Raikkonen of McLaren. He was second behind Schumacher at San Marino and leads the title race with 320 points to teammate David Coulthard’s 19. |
