LG scheme

LG Electronics India Pvt. Limited has announced a promotional scheme for its 17-inch monitors – both 17-inch normal and 17-inch Flatron models. The scheme includes bundling freebies that include a gamepad, a game CD, a video CD (movie songs) and a Britannica quiz CD. This offer is valid till the end of April 2003.

Quantum sues

Quantum Corp., a provider of data protection systems, has filed a patent infringement complaint in the US District Court in the Northern District of California against StorageTek (Storage Technology Corp). According to the complaint, StorageTek has engaged in the unlawful manufacture and sale within the USA of tape and tape drive products that infringe two separate Quantum patents. The complaint also seeks an injunction against the future sale of StorageTek products based on these patents.

Cisco phones

Cisco Systems announced that it has shipped 20,000 IP telephones to customers in India. The announcement comes after the announcement that Cisco has shipped more than 1 million IP telephones across the world. Cisco remains the first and only vendor to have got an approval from the Telecommunications Engineering Center (TEC) of the Department of Telecommunications in September 2001 for its IP-based PBX solutions in India.
