Celluloid chitchat
VIVEK Oberoi has arrived indeed. The latest indication of this, besides the threatening call made by Salman Khan to him, is the cola advertisement that Vivek has done. For years, doing a Cola advertisement has been considered an indication of one's stature in the industry. Though the Coca Cola company was to extend the contract with its previous ambassador, Hrithik Roshan, it decided against it since his box office statistics didn't speak too favourably. That's when Coke decided to rope in the sensation of the season, Vivek Oberoi, who has films like Company, Road and Saathiya to his credit. While Vivek will add fizz to the Cola advertisement, what might add to Salman's fury is the fact that the former has been paired with Aishwarya Rai in this advertisement directed by Shantanu Sheroy. The catchline of the advt `85 Piyo thanda. Jiyo thanda would surely be what Vivek would like to tell Salman. Aamir Khan plans Indo-UK venture After Lagaan, which

Rhea Pillai in anti-war film
She is better known as Sanjay Dutt's wife and an exponent of the Art of Living course. Now, former model Rhea Pillai has donned the greasepaint for a short anti-war film. The one-minute film, titled War or Peace, details the horrors of violence and is directed by young filmmaker Ritesh Sinha. To be released by Columbia Tristar, the film traces the story of the pregnant protagonist (Rhea), who loses her husband (Ashish Kapoor) in a blast, even as her child is born. Rhea, who had earlier turned down offers, says that she accepted this film because 'in the face of so much violence in the world today, this was definitely the thought for the day.' Shah Rukh's day out with family
It has been barely a week since he has returned from London after the harrowing back surgery. But, Shah Rukh has already been making his presence felt - at his kids' school at times and at cricket matches sometimes. Last, Shah Rukh was seen enjoying his weekend out with his entire family, comprising wife Gauri, son Aryan and daughter Suhana. The foursome was seen at a benefit cricket match organised by Lata Mangeshkar at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, in aid of the Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital. While Aryan in the Indian team's T-shirt was seen keenly following the proceedings in the stadium, sitting alongside Shah Rukh, Suhana was looking a bit lost in mom Gauri's lap. Aryan seemed to be a chip of the old block, cheering the men in blue who took on Sri Lanka's XI. Rani gets into saree mode Actress Rani Mukherjee, whose pint-sized charm, makes her a teenage icon, has surprisingly revamped her wardrobe. Gone are the dresses and churidaars. These days the Mukherjee maiden is seen draped in traditional sarees, covered from head to toe, at all film dos. The Filmfare Awards saw her sporting a traditional green-pink Benares saree, with chunks of kundan jewellery to match. At the Frames function, Rani was a true-blue traditionalist with peacock-coloured ethnic accessories. And at the Sansui Viewers's Choice Awards, the award-winning Rani, had yards of white and red curling her small frame. Stone-studded jewellery completed the gharelu glamour. The 'man' in Katrina's life Reams of newsprint have dealt with Katrina Kaif's close proximity with Salman Khan. But, the dame herself has always begged to differ, despite evidence to the contrary. Now, Katrina has said that the only man in her life is Amitabh Bachchan. But, before you jump to conclusions, there is nothing more to the statement but a child-like bewilderment and awe for a legend. Says the tall lady, 'I have had a crush on Amitabh Bachchan since my childhood. But when he started to grow a beard, it nearly broke my heart. Now, that he is going in for a clean-shaven look for Khaki, I am starting to get restless again.' This model-turned-actress, who is debuting with Kaizad Gustaad's Boom, says that she has told Bachchan about her feelings. Incidentally, Bachchan is playing a cameo in the film. Asked how Bachchan reacted to her little confession, Katrina says that he laughed it off, asking her to 'grow up'. ... and the man who is Amisha's past
Amisha Patel, who shares a close relationship with director Vikram Bhatt, denies being anything more than 'good friends' with him. The actress-director duo became close while working on Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage, a film that starred Amisha with her lucky mascot Hrithik Roshan. Even though the film didn't do too well, the actress and the director became fast friends. They have been seen sharing cosy dinners and attending parties together. However, asked about her relationship with Bhatt, Amisha says, 'Vikram and I have been nothing more than good friends. I wouldn't want to discuss this because Vikram is in a relationship and I wouldn't want to hurt the person concerned.' So, for all you eligible bachelors, the message is loud and clear: Amisha Patel is single and ready to mingle. LMN |
