Adopt the attitude of being positive
Rajesh Chadha

EVERY person can adopt a positive attitude towards life if he so desires. Since being positive enhances your positive qualities, it helps you get the maximum from your life. To be positive you should take care to see that whatever you say is positive.

Whenever someone asks us how we are, we generally tend to say one of the following: okay, fighting fit, surviving, going on, could have been better. We should instead say, "Top of the world." Start using this as your reply and you will see that it makes a difference to your attitude and approach towards life. You will feel happier and more relaxed. This will, in turn, make other people behave in a friendlier manner towards you, resulting in more happiness for you.

Henry Ford said, "Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you’re right." It is, indeed, attitude that differentiates a winner from a loser. It is the desire to do things in a better way that makes some people more successful than others. And once you taste success, you naturally become positive until finally it becomes your habit to be positive and then winning comes to you naturally.

Vince Lombardi said, "The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their field of endeavour." The first thing we need to learn is that we will be learning all our lives. However, for learning to be effective, it is essential that teaching tools and techniques be geared towards inculcating in the minds of the taught a desire for excellence. Again, a positive attitude helps the learning process, too.

The following behaviour patterns can help you adopt a positive attitude:

*Smile as wide as you can.

*Sit straight.

*Always look and be interested in whatever is happening around you.

*Always laugh heartily.

*Always behave as if you are happy.

*When things look down, think about your biggest success or your happiest moments.

*Be thankful to nature for its blessings.

*Remember that being happy is a choice you make.
