Eye check-up camp held
Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, March 30
Sight is one of best senses which God has given to human beings. It is the moral duty of every social service organisation to play an important role in the restoration of eyesight in poor and needy persons. This statement was made by Dr Waheguru Pal Singh, Medical Superintendent of Guru Teg Bahadur Charitable Hospital, at a free eye check-up and operation camp organised today by Ludhiana City Jaycees under the chairmanship of its president, Mr Jasminder Singh. The camp was organised at Gurdwara Guru Singh Sabha, Jammu Colony, Vishvakarma Town.

Addressing members of the Jaycees and patients, Dr Waheguru Pal Singh said in developing countries like India people did not take much care of their health, particularly their eyesight. Moreover, bad civic conditions and pollution made things worse in old age. In this respect, social service organisations could help the poor and needy by organising such camps. Dr Ajaypal Singh, Eye Surgeon of GTB Hospital, was the in charge of the camp. Those present were Joginder S. Makkar, Avtaar Singh, I.B.S. Nanda, Vineet Ahuja, Ravi Sharma, Joginder Singh Gambhir, Jasminder Singh, Didarjeet Singh and others.
