Patni gets outsourcing

The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, a US-based life insurance company, has announced it has awarded outsourced software services to Patni Computer Systems (P) Ltd., India’s sixth largest software services company. Under the terms of the initial contract, potentially worth $35 million over seven years, Patni will assist Guardian in introducing new life and annuity products, and undertake gap analysis and implementation of IT systems to meet the changing business needs in the insurance marketplace.

Unreal II

Milestone Interactive Software Limited has announced the launch of "Unreal II: The Awakening", a mission based action game. Developed by Infogrames’ Legend Entertainment, Unreal II: The Awakening is about intense life-or-death action game. This sequel to the best-selling "Unreal", takes players to more than 10 unique worlds where bizarre alien creatures and hordes of tough enemy soldiers lurk around every corner. Between missions, players return to an orbiting ship where they rendezvous with crew members and prepare for the next battle. Unreal 2 will be available at a MRP of Rs. 1299. The minimum system requirements are Pentium III or AMD 733 MHZ processor or higher, 256 MB RAM, 3.0 gigabytes free hard drive space, 32 MB GeForce 2 MX/ ATI Radeon 8500 or better 3D Accelerator card, 8X-CDROM, Direct X 8.1 compliant sound card.
