Rohtak’s rising star
Our Correspondent

Gorrav Ghai Chandigarh, March 13
For Gorrav Ghai of Rohtak success came easy. It was just a chance meeting with Piyush Choudhury, the producer of “Puchho Mere Dil Se” and before he realised Gorrav was acting in the lead role of the movie, opposite Piyush Choudhury's daughter Diya Choudhury. He is anxiously waiting for the release of his debut film on March 21.

“I am playing the role of a police officer in the film but the essence of the role is romantic,” says Gorrav. A firm believer in fate, he says luck played a major role in his life but now the rest depends on his hard work. “I was working on a separate project at that time when Piyush Choudhury spotted me and after that even before my first movie was released I am working for another two big banners,” he says.

Gorrav had started his career as a model for commercials and music videos but his big chance to act came through the serial “Kutumb” in which he played one of the lead roles. “I played the role of Dheeraj in the serial and I learnt a lot about acting working in it,” he says.

The dream for stardom had always been there for Gorrav and this prompted him to get himself enrolled in an acting course at Kishore Namit Kapoor’s institute. Apart from honing his skill to face the camera, Gorrav has been working on stage with Kader Khan's son Sarfaraz Khan.

“By acting on stage I have had the opportunity to learn about serious acting,” says this artiste who calls himself a versatile actor. “Be it comedy or serious roles, I can handle both with ease,” he says. But when it comes to idolizing he adores Shah Rukh Khan, Akshaye Kumar and Govinda.

His next project is “Ho Jata Hai Pyar” and an English film titled “Wonderful Moments” in which Kabir Bedi's son Adam Bedi is making his debut. In “Ho Jata Hai Pyar”, which is being made under the banner of Rajashri Films, he is working in the lead romantic role opposite a new comer Zareen Ali, a girl from Chicago,” he says.

But ask him about his choice of heroines and he says “I would love to work opposite Aishwarya Rai, Amisha Patel and Rani Mukherjee.”
