A role that’s given her Khushi

Khushi has given Kareena her first title role
Khushi
has given Kareena her first title role

KAREENA, who has done a title role for the first time in Khushi, talks about the film, her new look and co-star-Fardeen Khan.

Kareena Kapoor is undeniably the hottest talent on the block. Producers are falling over one another to sign the Kapoor girl. When Kareena says she is the highest paid actress in the industry, it is no joke. She knows what she is talking about.

Other actresses these day have to make do with Kareena rejects. She is certainly Bollywood’s queen bee, never mind the flops. Even as her new film, Khushi, releases, Kareena tells it all.

Is it true that you were bowled over by Jyotika’s performance in the Tamil version of Khushi?

Jyotika was incredible in the film. When I saw the Tamil version, I was in a state of shock. Jyotika was simply awesome. I don’t think any actress has performed that well to date. I was not sure whether I would be able to match up to Jyotika’s performance. But Suryah and Boney Kapoor convinced me to do the film. I hope the audience likes me in the film. I have done my best and I can easily say that my character in Khushi is the kind you will fall in love with.

You seem to share great on-screen chemistry with Fardeen Khan.

Everybody who has seen the promos feels the same. Fardeen and I do make a good pair. I must say he has done an amazing job. He has come up with a performance that will silence all his detractors. Personally, I think he is a cool guy. We got along like a house on fire.

What next?

I’m looking forward to the release of Sooraj Barjataya’s Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. He’s the best director one can ask for. I’m also looking forward to Bewafa, my first film with Dharmesh Darshan.

Have you experimented with your look in the film?

Yes, I have tried out a new blonde shade for my hair. The effect is stunning. The credit goes to Dharmeshji. He always makes his heroines look great. LMN
