one-day seminar on .NET application development in Chandigarh Microsoft
Corporation India Pvt Ltd, today held last week. This event was part of
an 18 city "MSDN Yatra" being conducted by Microsoft to help
students and developers across the country acquire skills to develop
next generation n-tier applications.
Microsoft evangelists
Kunal Sikka and Karun Anand, addressed the students of the Punjab
Engineering College and developers. The MSDN Yatra is being held by
Microsoft to celebrate one year of the launch of its tool for
application development -Visual Studio.NET.
Since its launch a year
ago, a large number of developers in India have used VS.NET for over 200
projects to develop cutting edge applications for the global
marketplace. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s Windows Services for UNIX
3.0(SFU3.0), developed at its India Development Centre, won the Best
System Integration Software award at LinuxWorld Conference, held in New
York.
Windows Services for UNIX
3.0 provides a full range of cross-platform services that help integrate
Windows
in a secure and cost-efficient manner into existing Unix and Linux
environments, a company official says.
"Windows Services for
Unix 3.0 provides platform interoperability and application migration
components in one fully integrated product," Amit Chatterjee,
Director, Windows Server Technology Group, MIDC, says.
