Kumble brothers spin software

INDIAN cricketer Anil Kumble is spinning software for the World Cup to help cricket lovers keep track of the game and bowl googlies with the help of his company’s products. StumpVision, a software company promoted by Anil and his brother Dinesh, has launched three products aimed at the cricket enthusiast, cricket clubs, associations as well as the official scorers.

Cricket Safari, a CD-ROM based product, is an encyclopaedia of the World Cup coupled with an interactive multimedia quiz.

"We have added a human touch to our basket of products. Zippy (the animated mascot) will guide the user," says Kumble, whose seven-year-old company will retail the product.

But it is Scorite — a tool for the scorer, the amateur statistician or the cricket enthusiast — that Dinesh Kumble is more enthusiastic about.

"There is really no record of what Anil or Rahul Dravid did in their school days. Scorite will facilitate that. And we are looking at the global market for this product as well," Dinesh Kumble said on the sidelines of the products’ launch here.

If Scorite is a desktop product, www.cricketeronline.com helps any club, association, school or even individual players to register and keep a record of their games and achievements.

"There is really nothing in the world that touches the grassroots-level

cricket enthusiast," Dinesh Kumble adds.

"The amount of data that you see in the graphics on television is immense. Our software and products could be the vehicle for that delivery," adds Deepak Patil, CEO of India’s exclusive sports software company.
