Remembering Kalpana

Kalpana ChawlaShe was not a kalpana but a real star,

She was not human but an incarnation.

Among the roses, the sweetest flower,

Whose fragrance was our inspiration.

She was a lady brave, brilliant and bold,

Who taught us to keep moving on, be it hot or cold.

She has left for us the marks of her feet,

The most precious thing that we need.

She has sown in us the seeds of dedication,

And burnt in us the flame of determination.

Still in our hearts, that great soul will lie,

For those who live for humanity never die.

India at the World Cup

Teams will be divided into two pools,

Weather in South Africa will be very cool.

After many years India will take on Pakistan,

But the winner will surely by my Hindustan.

Sachin will score many tons,

He will fire all the guns.

Kaif, Ganguly and Dravid will take great catches,

They will help India win many important matches.

Every time Zaheer swings the ball,

One wicket will definitely fall.

Sehwag will be our accelerator,

But no one must take lightly Kumble and Turbanator.

In India there will be players at every door,

Because yeh dil maange more.

India can win the cup provided they make one thing sure,

And that is India needs ek Cup aur.

St Xavier’s School, Bathinda.

India’s ‘cup’ of joy

For India, we are ready to cheer,

Its victories and defeats we share.

World Cup is on the way,

Three cheers for India, hip hip hurray.

May be the performance in New Zealand was low,

Seeds of victory, India will surely sow.

We have Sachin, the best of world’s batsmen,

India is there with victories written in golden pen.

We have to face fielders like Jhonty Rhodes,

India shall win by honest modes.

The storm of bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar,

When team spirit is there, there isn’t any darr.

India will surely live up to the hopes of millions,

We will try our best to overcome the aliens.

Team spirit and honesty is the motto of India’s cricket team,

India shall soon bring home victory’s team.
