Super Star sail into semi-final

Rajesh Sharma played an all-round role (47, 7x4 and 2 for 26) as Super Star Club defeated Youngsters Club by three runs and entered the semi-final of the seventh Sahibzada Ajit Singh Cricket Tournament, organised by the Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, at its ground in Pitampura. Rajesh Sharma was adjudged the Man of the Match.

Scores: Super Star Club: 197 for 9 in 35 overs (Rajesh Sharma 47, 7x4; Amar Singh 34, 5x4; Deepak Sharma 39, 4x4; Sunil Rawat 2 for 36, Savit Chaudhary 2 for 31, Sanjeev Rana 2 for 27).

Youngsters Club: 194 for 9 in 35 overs (Anshul Lamba 51, 1x6, 9x4; Sanjeev Rana 30, 3x4, Durga Prasad 3 for 52; Rajesh Sharma 2 for 26).

Rohtak Road Gymkhana will take on hosts Guru Gobind Singh College in a quarter-final match.

NGO Worth score big win

NGO Worth scored a facile ten-wicket victory against Davidoff in the Inter-Corporate Cricket Championship, organised by Criswim Academy, at the Jasola Sports Complex ground. In another match, Hindustan Times defeated Davidoff by 44 runs.

Scores: Davidoff: 26 all out (Atul 13, Sahil 2 for 9, Sunil 3 for 2).

NGO Worth: 29 for no loss (Raj Kumar 14 n o, Suraj 13 n o). Sunil was named the Man of the Match.

HT: 110 for 3 (Vipin 43, Rawat 25, Vivek 2 for 35, Atul 1 for 36).

Davidoff: 66 all out (Gaurav 23, Rajat 12, Feroze 17, Bhatt 3 for 28, Praveen 3 for 11). Vipin was named the Man of the Match.

Akhil Yadav (54) and Akshay Arora (4 for 23) played star roles as N C Jindal School defeated Manavsthali by ten wickets in the sixth Rohtak Road Gymkhna R P Jain Inter-School Under-15 Cricket Tournament at the Bharat Nagar ground.

Scores: Manav Sthali: 120 all out in 34.5 overs (Karan Anand 31, Puneet Chopra 4 for 23, Akshay Arora 3 for 30, Lalit Kumar 3 for 24).

DTC overrun Ranibagh

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) overran Ranibagh by six wickets in an A-II Division match of the DDCA League at the kKotla II ground.

Scores: Ranibagh: 291 all out in 39.3 overs (Ajay Sharma 101, Gaurav Mala 28 n o, Dalip Kumar 3 for 70, Kulvinder 2 for 57).

DTC: 294 for 4 in 37.3 overs (Mahesh Sharma 10 n o, Kulvinder Singh 84, Ashish Maheshwari 2 for 46). Ravi Brothers defeated Delhi Development Authority by four wickets in an A-II Division match at the Yamuna Sports Complex ground.

Pankaj, Manish help Delhi beat Bhubaneshwar

Pankaj Kaushik hit a strokefilled 75 and Manish Giri claimed five wickets for 19 runs as Delhi beat Bhubaneswar by 184 runs and entered the semi-final of the All-India State Bank of India Inter-Circle Cricket Tournament at the Khalsa College ground on Sunday.

Scores: Delhi: 232 for 2 in 30 overs (Pankaj Kaushik 75, Ajay Verma 66 n o, Hitesh Sharma 46 n o, Namka Singh 2 for 50).

Bhubaneswar: 48 all out in 17.2 overs (S Jyoti 10, Manish Giri 5 for 19, Vijay Bahadur Mishra 3 for 4).

Chennai beat Mumbai by seven wickets and entered the semi-final at the University ground.

Scores: Chennai: 178 for 5 in 30 overs (Shiv Kumar 62 n o, Ganesh Kumar 41, Kaiser Fakih 2 for 38). Mumbai: 171 for 9 in 30 overs (Manish More 44 n o, Rupak Kulye 38, Ganesh Kumar 3 for 50).

Hyderabad defeated Lucknow by six wickets at the Hindu College ground.

TVS Racing all set for a grand finish

Team TVS Racing, a formidable motocross team in the country, are all set to extend their superiority in the MRF Motocross Championship with a clean sweep in the final round in Bangalore.

Fresh from their success in Hyderabad, where the team put up a sterling performance, Team TVS Racing, is now set to end the year with a flourish. Adding to the excitement will be the presence of C Viajaya Kumar, winner of the Experts Class Group A Foreign Motorcycles upto 250cc in Hyderabad.

Vijaya Kumar’s talent has led to his selection by the FMSCI as the sole Indian rider who will be participating in the Dubai Motocross (UAM), to be held later this year. TVS Racing drivers and the machine did equally well, with no motorcycle retiring due to any technical or engine-related issues.

The team have thus established their position as the undisputed leader in this national motor sport once again. The TVS team consist of seven riders, and is the biggest and one of the finest racing teams in the country. The team have won many a title over the years.

Delhi Police upset Indian National

New Delhi, January 19
Delhi Police scored an upset 1-0 victory against Indian National in a Pool A match of the Delhi Soccer Association (DSA)-SAIL Super League at the Ambedkar Stadium on Sunday.

V Samson scored the match-winner off a pass from Yagya Ram. A few minutes earlier, Samson had narrowly missed the mark. Gurminder made an attempt to score for Nationals in the second half, but his shot rebounded off the bar.

Nationals have secured just one point from two matches while Delhi Police have earned three points from two matches.

In a Pool B match, Moonlight overshadowed Goans 1-0. Bikram Bhandari scored the only goal when he converted a penalty kick five minutes before close. The penalty kick was awarded when Ravinder handled the ball. Moonlight made a number of forays into the rival goal, but they could not add to their lone goal lead, though Mahinder Kumar under the Goan bar had a busy time.

Monday’s fixture: Indian Air Force vs Moghals (3 pm)— Ambedkar Stadium.

The 18th Sub-Junior Amateur Boxing Championship will be held in Kolkata from January 24 to 28, in which at least 350 boxers and 90 technical officials of the country will take part. OSR
