IN
a recently conducted study among cellular users in top 10 cities, GSM
users in Kolkata shows maximum inclination to try WiLL. As high as 45
per cent of GSM users in Kolkata are "highly willing" to try
WiLL, against the average of 21 per cent at overall level (all 10 cities
put together). Thiruvananthapuram follows Kolkata (at 40 per cent) and
Ahmedabad with (29 per cent). In other metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai
and Chennai, the percentage of "highly willing" respondents is
at a low of 18 per cent, 20 per cent and 14 per cent, respectively. The
willingness to try WiLL is found to be least in Chandigarh where only
2.5 per cent of the GSM users are highly willing to try it.
WiLL as a concept is
familiar with 59 per cent of the respondents across top 10 cities.
Hyderabad tops the list in terms of awareness, with 91 per cent of GSM
users of this city are aware of it. Delhi (71 per cent) follows
Hyderabad in awareness, probably the presence of Tata Teleservices in
these two cities mattered. Chandigarh (24 per cent) and
Thiruvananthapuram (32 per cent) ranked at the end of the list in terms
of awareness of WiLL among GSM users.
Awareness is found to be
highest among the GSM users in the age bracket of 26 to 30. The older
groups though low on awareness, shows maximum inclination towards trying
this cost-effective new service.
