NIIT agreement

NIIT has entered into a tripartite agreement with Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and Virtual Education Trust to allow its one-year diploma and GNIIT students to pursue the university’s B.Sc. and M.Sc. IT programs with advanced standing. A MoU was signed between the three parties recently. As a part of the five-year agreement, KSOU will provide lateral entry to the third semester of the B.Sc. IT program to those students, who successfully completed one year in NIIT diploma after 10+2.

New Horizons

New Horizons, a global computer-training institute, announced the launch of its India operations with the opening of first centre in New Delhi. In the first year of its operations, the company plans to have training centres across Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. With an investment commitment of up to Rs. 200 crore over three years, the company has plans to launch over 250 centers across the country.

Nortel Networks

The Bombay Stock Exchange, India’s largest financial exchange, has upgraded its trading network by merging three previously separate networks into one core backbone based on an Ethernet switch solution from Nortel Networks. By combining its networks into one, the Bombay Stock Exchange is now positioned to provide more reliable and more secure services to brokers over a more efficient, more manageable and more cost-effective network
