Sorrows of Kashmir

I have been crying for many years,

But no one is able to wipe my tears.

My children are fighting with each other,

Instead of living peacefully together.

Everywhere there are spots of blood,

Depriving the children of their childhood.

I often hear the horrible screams,

That are ripping through people’s dreams.

Who‘ll cut my dreadful chains and ropes?

Yes, I do have some little hopes.

Nobody knows when I’ll be free again,

Any long lost heaven will be regained!

Our feelings

What are feelings?

Some appear good,

Some appear bad,

Some are happy,

Some are sad.

With good feelings,

We always gain.

But bad feelings,

Cause stress and strain.

Happy feelings bring joy and happiness,

And lift us from sorrow and sadness.

Where did that world go?

Can’t this world again be beautiful?

Full of joy and where everything was peaceful

There should be no boundaries to love,

No Hindu, no Muslim and everyone should fly like a free dove

There should be respect for everyone,

‘All are made equal by God’ - this we must learn

What’s the need of being a nuclear power,

Everyone should live together and that’s the need of the hour.

Why has this world become an ugly place?

Why has the present world so many difficulties to face

Man was man’s friend and not a foe,

None was happy at anothers’ sorrow

Today there are no roses, withered flowers though,

O’Lord where did that beautiful world go?
