The minister gave away the prizes to winners. The chairman of the school, Mr Andrew J. Gosain, presented the vote of thanks.

The minister said the report of a high-level committee constituted to study ways of promoting sport in Punjab was about to be submitted and there was a plan to spend Rs 5 crore on sports activities in the coming year. Mr Kang said there was a lot of sporting talent in villages, but sports activities had always been neglected by all governments. There was no proper equipment and stadiums, too, were not many. He said he would give adequate attention to sports activities in the state.
