SHANIA was born on August 28, 1965, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. She grew up in the mining town of Timmins. Shania Twain, born Eileen Edwards in 1965, watched her father abandon the family when she was very young. Before her musical career began, she planted trees with her stepfather. When she was 22, her parents were killed in an accident and she became the legal guardian of her two half brothers and sister, putting her musical career on hold to care for them. She took a job as a singer at a resort in northern Ontario. In 1993, Robert John "Mutt" Lange met her. Later that year, Shania met Lange again, they fell in love and later they got married. Then the duo worked on The Woman in Me, which became a hit. ‘Up!’ was the title of the most popular album of Shania Twain, and her album, Come On Over, is the most successful female solo artist album of all time with worldwide sales of 34 million. Shania has been nominated 9 times for a Country Music Association Award and won Entertainer of the Year in 1999. She has just competed her new assignment of 19 new tracks, co-written with her husband and producer Robert John Mutt Lange. Since she wants her fans should be from across the globe, she travelled around the world and recorded music in India, Caribbean, Ireland, Italy and many more places. In her recent interview she said, "We created the concept of why not give the audience the music that they accept and expect from me? She explains. I don’t just have country fans. I don’t just have pop fans. My career isn’t just North America. It’s international. Come On Over included 6 hit singles. Around 7 million copies of the album were sold around the world. You’re Still The One sold over 2 million copies while That Don’t Impress Me Much and Man I Feel Like A Woman both sold over 1 million copies. Shania has got many awards for song writing and singing. She received Grammy Award for Best Country Song Come On Over in 1999, Best Songwriter, Juno Award (Canada) in 2000, Entertainer of the Year, Academy of Country Music Awards (US) in 2000 and many more.
