Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, December 8
Using the technique of painless burn dressing, used for the first time in the region, Mukat Hospital not only helped in reducing the pain of nine-year-old Isha, who had sustained 45 per cent burns, but gave her the joy of being back in school with her friends.

Having sustained severe burns on October 1, when she was electrocuted when an iron rod she was playing with touched an overhead 11,000 volt wire, Isha’s family cannot help thank the doctors for virtually giving their daughter a second life. Isha was initially taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital and then referred to PGI.

Plastic surgeon and burns specialist Dr Krishan Mohan Kapoor, who runs a helpline ( 9814600600 ), treated Isha and made a makeshift burns unit at Mukat Hospital.” Since the pain was unbearable for the little girl, we decided to do painless dressings, which were done under anaesthesia,” said Dr Kapoor
