Halloween
spirit at discotheques Chandigarh, October 31 It all started in the afternoon. Youngsters, after reading advertisements in newspapers, reached the discotheques dressed up in cheerful bright tops over hip huggers or boot-cut trousers. As girls walked in, boys, desperate to twirl on the dance floor, waited outside for a chance to sneak in without a partner. They argued with the guards and used “influential” names in an attempt to gain entry. The result of their inability to enter discotheques was visible inside. Every where one looked, there were girls and more girls shaking and shouting on the polished dance floor. The absence of guys was no
deterrent as the dames, illuminated by colourful lights, danced till beads of perspiration appeared on their brows. As the impressive speakers boomed the latest numbers, they sang along. In the evening, the bash gained momentum. More and more masks were taken out. Boys, too, managed to enter the discotheques. As boisterous minutes slipped past, they combined bhangra moves with jive till everyone joined in. |
